Through adventure, I emersse myself in natural landscapes and capture their essence in a unique colorful style. As a Fine Art graduate with a focus in Sculpture, I find myself intrigued by texture, layering materials and tactile processes. My experimental approach to painting materials has lead to an organic, whimsical style with heightened colors and layering, visually articulating the movent and energy of the location painted.

Every scene is from an adventure, and many works are painted on location, or 'en plein air.' Adventure and travel has led me on a journey developing a style and finding hobbies which continuously shape my art and life path such as fishing, kayaking and scuba diving.

I am mainly versed in acrylic, but I also love the flow of watercolors, the luciousness of oil paints, and the tactality of encaustic, a beeswax/tree resin paint I make from scratch. I enjoy attempting to work with several of these materials in new yet archival ways. Recently, I started digital painting during travel and I enjoy the immediacy of this new medium as well.

Colors, light, textures and shapes in paintings lead me to making patters from them. These organic mandala fabrics are being printed onto functional products and clothing. This will be a growing aspect of my artwork as I continue to paint landscapes, and now underwater coralscapes!
