I was given my first sewing machine at age 17 and, like most artistic hobbies I try, I excelled at sewing almost immediately. I started out making handbags and DIY punk vests, basic patterns and ideas, then went onto more advanced sewing projects. I fell in love with making hair accessories back in 2009, but didn't put much thought into a shop.
As time went on, I received more and more compliments on my hair accessories with inquiries of where I purchased them. I was told my bows looked like high quality merchandise, like something you'd purchase from an actual clothing line, rather than something just made at home. I was beyond flattered and I thought,"What the Hell" and went for it.
I opened my shop in November of 2011, but didn't actually start selling until June of 2012.
All of my items are Vegan friendly. I've always felt that using products made from the pain and suffering of any living creature is just cruel.
I'd like to think I've got my craft down to an art nowadays. I put a lot of time and effort, blood, sweat and tears into what I make for my shop. I put my customers first, as any other shop should, because that's the way I would like to be treated when purchasing from a business.
There are moments when I realize that my hair bows are being worn by women all around the world and it makes my ambition to have a successful shop grow stronger. The fact that I've turned a little side project into a legitimate business is still mind-blowing to me.
So, I call out to all subcultural girls and to all fandom nerds to take a look at my shop! I've got something for everyone here. Enjoy. x
