  • Maan

    Owner, Curator, Photographer

I'm Maan & I started this shop with Yves because we love Uchikake and the handicraft and fabrics incorporated in them. I personally select the perfect pieces, photograph them and look for a perfect new place for them to spend the rest of their days.

  • Joosje

    Owner, Curator, Shipper

Even before studying Japanese at University I had an interest in kimono and all things pretty from Japan. Through this shop I can utilize my Japanese skills and help people from all around the globe attain the kimono of their dreams.

  • Yves

    Owner, Assistant, Shipper

Yves and Maan started the shop, and Yves' strong points are deciding which ones to buy & how to ship them safely. He's the practical help to the two kimono-enthousiasts that reminds us every now and then we don't need another 5 for ourselves (...).

Frequently asked questions

Return policy

If there is an issue with any of our items, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. The item can be returned within two weeks (14 days) of delivery, but the customer will be charged shipping costs both ways (even if we provided free shipping).

!!! The item can only be refunded if it is in the same condition as we send it out. As Kimono/Uchikake can not really be cleaned, this is fundamental. It would be much appreciated if it's returned neatly folded and safely (waterproof) shipped.

Custom and personalized orders

> As the Uchikake / Kimono are all vintage & one of a kind pieces, we cannot alter them. We can, however, search for any specific colours, sizes, patterns or themes you would desire.

> For the upcycled jackets the sky is pretty much the limit. Or, more exact, our current obi-supply. Message us for options in obi's, colours & sizing!

Sizing details

> KIMONO aren't exactly translatable to western sizes. This is a general rule of thumb for woman's measurements:

The length of your Kimono/Furisode should be within 10cm (+ or -) of your height.

For example: Your height is 160cm
If you are very slim your kimono can be 150 ~ 160cm in lenght
If you are medium build your kimono can be 155 ~ 165cm in lenght
If you are curvy or large build: 160 ~ 170cm is recommended

*Please use these measurements as a reference. Actual best fit size depending on each individual's body type and preference.

> UCHIKAKE are supposed to be worn open over kimono and they should be trailing the floor when you walk. This means they are easy to wear for different sizes, as long as they aren't too short.
