I made it

I've always been crafty and into making stuff. My first order came from a street in London, when a passer by loved my daughter's hat and ordered one for hers. Since that autumn of 2008, I've spent countless hours making up and knitting (and sometimes crocheting) things.

I've set myself a challenge to have no or minimum number of seams in my knits. I've found that no seams allows the item stretch better to the shape of the wearer, making it really their own.
To be sure my knits are kind to the little ones wearing them, I always use yarn that is made of natural fibers and feels good to the touch when I'm knitting it.
I like playing with colours and using them in different combinations. I always try to add a little surprise to my knits, so that there is no KUDUM sweater that looks exactly the same.

Moving from long, cold winter to Brisbane, with two weeks of winter, has really cut down on the sweater weather but hasn't really stopped me from wanting to knit them.

'I made it' - a sentence that got me my first sale and still feels good, every time I get to say it.

Hi and thanks for popping in to KUDUM!

I'm Mari - the creative force behind KUDUM. Yarn runs in my blood - my granny knitted, my mum knits and I have done so since the age of 6. I've also added crochet to our skill pool.
My designs are simple and practical and have been tested on my two little girls. I love colour and experimenting with different combinations. I like knitting from top down, creating seamless garments that will fit and hold their shape well.
