Welcome to my little world of nature-inspired art. Many of these pieces have started out as moments of quiet contemplation before beautiful places or animals. They have slowly grown to became a collection that I love sharing with others. In the hectic pace that today's mobile world has become, I find nothing so counter-culture and satisfying as creating and sharing tangible art.

My inspiration is largely Alaska's natural environment. I stumbled upon art as a profession in college. I went to be an American Studies major and after taking one design class, I was hooked on art. My favorite "Calvin and Hobbes" comic says it best: "Another casualty of the seduction of art," Hobbes says after white-washing a distracted Calvin.

Growing up in Alaska gave me something beautiful in nature to look at each new day. Because I lived by a city - albeit isolated - with lots of small cultural programs, I also received a rudimentary start in the fine arts. Solo travels throughout Europe during my twenties gave many beautiful things to enjoy with my eyes and heart. I lived near Basel, Switzerland for four years and loved being surrounded by the simple yet harmonious contemporary design in that area; by the ornaments of its medieval history; as well as the healthy forests, small museums that were like treasure boxes, and friends with respect for art.

I've worked in publications, graphic design, galleries, coffee & restaurants, teaching art, coaching skiing and running; and am now a wife and mom to two preschoolers. Being with my kids is priority right now and they enjoy painting and creating alongside me. I hope that they can learn to see the beauty that is in this beautiful mess of a world through my work and guidance.
