My name is Emily, and I started Netherland Crafts in May 2020. I have always been a creative person and designed my first business when I was only 8 years old. When I discovered I could provide quality goods using crochet, I decided to start one.

I learned to crochet in February right before the pandemic hit, and I took the extra time during lockdown to work on my skills. I was also in the middle of moving to North Carolina during May 2020, and realized I'd only left out one ball of yarn and one hook while the movers packed everything else up. It was a boring time, and I went outside to my car to start cleaning it for the drive to NC. I realized how much trash had accumulated in my car from grocery store receipts and food wrappers, and how much I needed a trash can. I then thought about my single ball of pink yarn left behind and immediately began designing a trash can. I opened my Etsy shop shortly after, and the trash can became one of my best-selling items. I found my niche with car and home accessories, and I now hope to create happy and functional crocheted goods.

In June 2023, Netherland Crafts shifted into a digital-only shop, selling the crochet patterns to items everyone knows and loves! This decision was made with a heavy heart, as I loved making each and every item, but I will be moving to Germany in Fall 2023 and cannot provide international shipping. Don't worry though, the same amount of love and time goes into each crochet pattern, too!
