A lovely sort of limbo

For 15 years or so, when our kids were small, my husband and I ran a graphic design shop in Asheville where we, well, designed things for people. Logos, newsletters, signs, that sort of thing. I began screen printing small print editions and found that I totally loved everything about the process. Collecting ideas, planning out designs, calculating shadows and the overlapping of colors, registering the screens and running the prints. I'd done some screen printing for jobs in New Orleans years ago, but not from my own designs. That's what made all of the difference. It's a multi-layered puzzle which keeps you happily engaged for long stretches of time.

Now I work all day at my local public library. I love it but need to recharge after talking to the almost universally great public all day. I plan, design and print things at night and on weekends. Etsy has been a boon to me in that I sell enough to keep me in paper and ink.
