Thank you for visiting Petit Remy!

I started my small crochet toys + accessories shop in 2016 but I had a burning desire to learn to crochet and knit when I was expecting my first son back in 2011 and was already a dog mom to a tiny 5 pound rescue dog named Remy. Already an old pup when I adopted him, he was a survivor of Hurricane Katrina -- his amazing story and willingness to love had a huge impact on my heart and he was truly my first son! I tried to teach myself crocheting as best as I could, playing with yarn while he would snuggle beside me. We had several great years together before he passed around Christmas of 2013.

After taking a couple of crochet classes years later, I started to gift friends many of my creations, which with their encouragement is where the idea to open a small shop came from. I wanted some of the items I made to have a positive impact, with my original intention being to donate a portion of sales to select charities. The first charitable item is Derek The Robot, with $5 of each sale donated to The Carson Foundation, a local Toronto area charity that supports families affected by Autism. I plan to have a few other charitable items coming this year, particularly one focused around Remy, to advocate for senior dog adoption and animal welfare. When I'm taking a little break from being Mummy to my 2 boys, I'm busy creating colourful, quirky and cuddly things for you and your littles.
