When I started crafting chianmail I had no idea what I was doing. I learned everything I know today from the wonderful internet. 8 years ago a member of my gaming group was working on a chainmail dice bag at our monthly game night, which sparked my curiosity. After that day I was determined to make a bag for myself, so I did. After that I worked on a Coif for myself, then a belt, and finally a shirt, which took 4 years since I would set it aside for months at a time. During this time I made bags for friends, simple jewelry for loved ones, and even a few keychains. As I bettered my crafting ability I felt comfortable offering my products for sale, and began selling on etsy.com, when I made this choice to sell online I also began to purchase my supplies instead of making them by hand, which allows me to have a better final product.

One of the most wonderful aspects of this craft is that it can be done almost anywhere. I work on projects while watching television at night with my fiancé, when I work in my office I listen to books, or comedians, when I’m at the laundromat waiting, it passes the time better then playing on my phone. At the end of the day as long as I can look at my product with pride that is all the satisfaction I need.
