I can't remember a time when i wasn't making something. i grew up being schooled from home where ingenuity and creativity was always encouraged. As i learned reading, writing, arithmetic, and other disciplines I also learned how to sew, knit, crochet, cook, bake, and create pretty much anything I would ever want. Now that I am grown and have a home and family of my own, I haven't stopped. In fact, now I am sharing my handmade items with the rest of the world.
So, a typical day for me looks like this: i wake up early to make some coffee and plan our day before my little ones wake up. Once my children are awake, our day begins with breakfast, more coffee, and trips to the park, thrift shop, post office, or strolls around our neighborhood. During nap-time I plan my designs, do some light sewing, knitting, or crafting. I usually make up something for dinner, but if I am lucky then my husband is home to do the cooking (he is a better cook than I am!). Once the kids are asleep I sew or paint or knit deep into the night while listening to audiobooks and sipping tea with my husband. Not bad, huh? oh, and some nights I go to a "real job" - I am an emergency room nurse. I have not quit the day... er, night job - yet, and probably never will - I love taking care of people.
Where will "from lebo with love" go? well, for now i create dolls, stuffed animals, small bags, zines, embroideries, and pot-holders. In the future i would love to create crafting kits for kids - so they can learn to make fun stuff too. Who knows, maybe some day this might become my "real job", or maybe I'll just make enough money to pay my library fines.
