Custom Drawings
Have an idea but not sure where to begin? Contact me and let me know what you're thinking! I love helping people's ideas come alive on the page. See my Etsy listings for more information about small, 8x8 custom drawings and pet portraits but know that I can offer any size, any subject matter!
Is everything really hand-drawn?
Yes, everything I make is hand-drawn and created by myself.
How long does it take you to complete a drawing?
It depends on what type of drawing I'm creating. If I am doing something extremely realistic, what is considered scientific illustration, my drawings and paintings can take me days to complete just the final product. If I am working on something more stylized an illustrative, it can take me only around 3-5 hours to complete my final drawing.
What is your process like?
I start every illustration with a concept, wether that's a single word, or an image that inspires me. From there I work on developing small thumbnails, about 20, of what my drawing could look like. From my two best thumbnails I develop rough sketches that help me better idealized my two concepts. At this point I usually have a clear idea of which is working and which is not. I take the one rough sketch and create a final sketch, with details and clear definition of forms. Depending on how large I am going to be drawing, sometimes I increase the size of my sketch and print it out 2 to 3 times larger. I then transfer my sketch to my final paper and begin to start my drawing!
Can I get that in a different size?
If you see something you like but want it in a different size please message me and I will make it work for you!
