Stina Simmarano is a mixed media artist living in Somerville, MA. Inspired by patterns and repetition in nature and technology as well as found objects and materials, her work is vibrant and emotional. A lexicon of familiar imagery and color forms a cohesive thread across the various media she works in, from rug-making to painting and collage to jewelry-making. Her work often evolves over many years and layers, developing organically in spurts and waves, a visual stream of consciousness.
