My love for letterpress began with a fascination with typography, and grew when I worked as a printing assistant for Chicago's Society of Typographic Arts printing weekend at the Hamilton Wood Type Museum.
From there, I had the opportunity to work at Hatch Show Print in Nashville, TN, one of the oldest working letterpress print shops in America, designing and printing letterpress posters for clients using wood and metal type. My colleagues introduced me to linoleum carving, and I fell in love.
After several years of carving and printing with the pressure of my own hands, I purchased a Morgan Line-O-Scribe, which has been integral in refining the precision of each print as well as enabling more intricate color layering.
I've always loved handwritten letters and am pleased to be able to create notecards that are made with as much love as the writing that will go inside.
