The Antique Hourglass is 29 years old!

Before we opened Hourglass Antiques & Collectibles, we were collectors for 20 years. My husband collected pocket knives, straight razors and barber bottles. As a kid he had comic book and mineral collections. I collected dog figurines and stamps as a child, and as an adult fell in love with Steiff teddy bears and vintage blue & white china. In 1991-92 we opened shop in three antique malls in the Tampa Bay area. We also did antique shows in Tampa, Atlanta and the Webster Antiques Flea Market. By 1999 the malls were beginning to close down, so we turned to the internet. I have to admit, the timing was perfect!

Our house is also an antique (by Florida standards anyway!); it was built in 1924. We have one dog and two cats; all were adopted as strays or from shelters. We've enjoyed going to auctions, yard sales, and thrifts, but right now we have enough stuff, so we're laying low!
