Like many knitters I love colourful yarn, especially colourful sock yarn, but I couldn't help but be disquieted as socks flew off my needles that the nylon in these socks that I thought so necessary would be around far longer than me and I began the search for non-nylon yarn in colours just as beautiful as what was available conventionally.

My yarn is all spun in the UK and dyed by me using professional acid dyes. My kits are all made and created by myself,
Some of my wool yarn is superwash, some is non-superwash. For some non-superwash is a bridge to far, others love its special woolly warmth.

I am constantly inspired by the countryside and environment around me and the sights and textures of my everyday life inspires my choice of colours as I work the dye pots.

I package my items in plastic free wrappings to post/ship.

All my yarn is 100% wool, spun in the UK, both to reduce carbon emissions due transport costs and to enable my products to be biodegradable when their useful days are eventually over.
When dying my 100% wool yarns I always use the dye baths to exhaustion, to prevent unspent dye entering the water system and I wash yarn in biodegradable wool wash after dying.
I always package my products without plastic, using materials that are biodegradable and recyclable.
