I started making pony jewelry and accessories in Spring of 2012 after being inspired by the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the fan community that it created, and especially by the huge amount of fan art that community generates (and fan music, fan fiction, you name it). Hasbro was not making toys or other products that really looked like they were based on the show, and especially there were no products representing the supporting and background characters that are so popular among the fans. I wanted to address that, and I wanted to make some things that the majority of the fan base, the boys, would be willing and proud to wear. That's why I originally focused on the dog-tag style necklace. But I try to make things that anyone would like. Hasbro is starting to address those issues, but slowly. I am going to be shifting my approach as they do so, so as not to directly compete with them. Right now I'm working on products with characters Hasbro products are not sufficiently representing, and also brainstorming ideas for new and unique things.
