I am happy to share all natural, healing, woolly items (and more) with you. They are cozy and sustainable, and will keep you comfortably warm, naturally. Each item is lovingly, handmade by myself once your order is placed. I appreciate you choosing to support the slow, ethical fashion movement and sustainable living. Woollywhotknots items are all completely biodegradable, most of them are un-dyed, and the ones that are dyed are dyed by myself with fruits, nuts or veggies, not using any mordants other than the plant matter itself. Fast fashion is destroying the world … see these articles (along with many others): https://kinder.world/articles/problems/fast-fashion-is-destroying-the-planet-as-we-shop-along-18769. https://www.onegreenplanet.org/environment/how-the-fast-fashion-industry-destroys-the-environment/.

When the clothing at woollywhotknots is made, it is made one piece at a time, just for you, there is barely any waste. I knit the item to shape and size, the left over yarn pieces are still used in felted pieces. The alpaca yarn is not dyed, there are no chemicals or water used, the colors are the natural colors of the animals. I do offer some dyed organic merino wool yarn. It is dyed by myself using plant materials only, which are composted and used on our farm. Zero waste! I love and cherish this earth and do what I can to protect it!

Not only is Woollywhotknots’ clothing sustainable, but the packaging and preparation is as well. We are mindful to use as much ecologically minded packing items as we are able. Your package will arrive with zero waste materials. All paper products are recycled and recyclable, and biodegradable. All the tape used is all biodegradable and compostable. The clear tape is cellophane tape. The yarn is washed prior to knitting your item, with our wonderful well water and with a drop of biodegradable, eco friendly soap. When your item arrives to you, it is ready to wear.

Woollywhotknots accepts returns, if you contact me within two weeks of receiving your delivery. Refunds will be provided once the item(s) is received, minus the original shipping costs. The item(s) must be in original condition to receive the refund. I highly suggest insurance and tracking of returned items. If your order arrives damaged, please take a photo of it in its damaged state, along with the packaging. All items shipped from woollywhotknots are insured, so, if there are any damages in transit, they will be taken care of.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the alpaca and the organic merino wool?

Alpaca is fuzzier, warmer and a bit heavier than the wool. The wool is coarser, and a more structural. Woollywhotknots has two thickness of the organic, merino wool that can be used. Sport weight and fingering weight. The sport is thicker and heavier, it is also a bit thicker than the alpaca. The fingering weight is lighter and thinner than both the alpaca and the sport weight wool. The color choices in the listings' photos only show the natural alpaca colors. The wool comes in unbleached ivory white. I usually have some dyed with black walnut husks (organically grown on our farm). Please ask to see the shades of brown that are available. The alpaca doesn’t not pill like wool does.

What is the turn around time?

I will usually be able to make items in a few weeks. Smaller, and simpler items will take about 1-2 weeks and larger items will take 3-4. Complicated items will take even longer, up to 6 weeks. During the fall and early winter the turn around time can be longer.

Why wear all natural clothing?

All natural clothing is better for you and the world we live in. There are many health benefits to wearing wool clothes. Animal fiber helps to reduce stress, helps circulation among other benefits. Since there are no dyes used in these clothes, there are no added chemicals to put on your skin (the largest organ of our bodies) and none added to the environment. Be kind to yourself and the earth.... wear natural clothing.
