I just received my little wooden “box” today, and I just LOVE IT!! It is so silky smooth and polished, not only on the outside but the inside as well. The owner of this shop did a wonderful job of making such a beautiful box. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is super! I love the unusual wood that he chose to use, and believe me, it is much prettier in person than in the picture. The gorgeous grain patterns perfectly line up and just flow from the top of the lid, all the way to the bottom. I am VERY happy with my purchase! I only have one dilemma...should I give it to someone as a gift because it looks so classy....OR should I keep it myself because it’s truly lovely!? I definitely recommend that you order something from Andy’s shop. He does an A#1 job in the making and he gets it to you in no time at all! 🙂

A lovely little box with very pretty markings! It’s tiny, but that is part of its charm. I like it very much and am considering taking another “stroll through” this shop! : ) I hope you do too. Destined Box Maker

My name is Andy, I have been building things out of wood my whole life. I use to help my dad building houses when I was a kid. I started as a "go get that board" kid then soon I was up top building the houses myself, but something was always missing. There was some skill involved in building the houses but I needed to challenge myself, and then one day something happened.

I got married and my wife asked me to build us some end tables for our bedroom. I agreed to and built them with a circular saw, a miter saw and a router. After I was done, I realized what was always missing. Building furniture takes precise measurements and alot of patience, so I figured out how I could challenge myself.

I started getting more tools for building furniture and started woodworking. I loved building furniture but when someone told me about Etsy I figured I would try box building for a change. I loved it! I could challenge myself even more. The pieces of wood are even smaller and the room for error is alot smaller and that drove me to perfection.

The best thing about box making for me is using all of these beautiful hardwoods that are just too expensive to build furniture out of and getting to know each one. How they act when worked with handtools, how they smell, everything about them, and nothing beats seeing how wonderful the grain pattern is when that last coat of finish is applied. So I will continue to build boxes made with the most attention to detail and challenge myself so others can enjoy my work.
