I make a point to favorite everything on Etsy that catches my voracious aesthetic eye, and it has resulted in a virtual encyclopedia of my ever changing whims and tastes. However, finding new and intriguing items that I have not yet stamped with my heart-clicking finger can sometimes present a challenge.

Etsy's Connections tool is a clever visualization that shows you other Etsians who share your fondness for the antique mirror, cozy cowl or masterfully crafted porcelain bowl you recently added to your Favorites.

Today's Etsy Finds were inspired the oh-so-twee Pony Soft Sculpture by astulabee. The following collection is a virtual breadcrumb trail of Etsians who share my love for this adorable creature, all discovered via Connections.

I'm logged into Etsy but my Connections page just shows me and my favorites. I don't see how to find other people's faves that are similar to mine...? I don't see another way than to click on my favorites, click on each item, click on "see who hearts this item" and then click on those users and their faves. Way too time consuming. Is there something I'm missing on the Connections page?

Have used the connections tool only a few times due to time constraints and simply forgetting about it but it's a fabulous device for finding things that may pass under the radar. Mostly I just search random tags for whatever going 'round my brain that day. It's the randomness & synchronicity approach. Works for me.

My preferred way to find new Etsy treasures is to click on any item that catches my eye and take a closer look at it, as well as the shop it is in. For example, the leather brief case in this article stood out. I visited the Etsy shop sadieolive and found many interesting items. I was amazed to see that she had a feedback rating of 156 and that she had just joined Etsy on Sept. 01, 2009. My goodness, how did she sell so much in such a short time? I want to know her methods. Sadieolive should write her own article. Also, her shop banner is really outstanding.
