This weekend’s Get the Look: Decor is inspired by the modern minimalist cottage renovation of Juli Daoust and John Baker. Juli inherited the Toronto cottage several years ago and just last summer she and John began the laborious task of transforming the home's tired, cluttered interior into a modern open space that reflected the couple's love for mid-century modern design.

On a tight budget, Juli and John developed creative ways to use natural inexpensive materials and worked with the architectural elements that already existed within the home. What they were able to save by thinking creatively allowed them to splurge a bit on a few select pieces of designer furniture and accessories, which they purchased from a few of their favorite shops in Toronto.

What a great collection!

Note however that the cottage featured is on Georgian Bay a good 3 - 4 hrs north of Toronto. Toronto is on Lake Ontario a TOTALLY different Great Lake.

Also The Bay has revived the vintage blanket featured and you can get them new if you can't find a good vintage one.
