I started my Etsy shop in 2014, just before my son was born. I took a massive leap of faith and quit my non-creative job in favour of setting out as a freelance illustrator, which has since developed into making pottery. Even though it was a scary time I am so glad I made the decision, as now I have the opportunity to create, and fit this into looking after my beautiful little boy. I'm so grateful for sites like Etsy as it makes it so easy to share and sell the items I make from home. Ever since I was small I have always loved creating, and this has carried on throughout my life.

I work from my spare room, which is where I throw my pottery using my wheel. My background is in illustration, but I made the switch to ceramics just over four years ago. On a whim I booked a space on a pottery taster session and I was hooked and knew that ceramics was what I wanted to pursue as my career! I really enjoy watching the clay evolve into its form, adding the glaze, patterns and texture, and watching it transform into an item that is beautiful and that can be used in everyday life.

A lot of my pieces are finished with a gold design using gold lustre. This is hand painted on, no stencils and decals and is the most time consuming of all the processes.It also requires another firing to fix it onto the piece, which is why my made to order listings take a bit longer to create. I love the gold, I think it makes each piece unique and special. Im really inspired by the contrast between the rustic earthiness of the stoneware ceramic and glazes, and the shiny luxe of the gold.

Everything sold on my Etsy shop has been designed, handmade and photographed by myself....I enjoy the whole process!
