Announcement    Truth began painting in 1996, and has been represented by galleries in California, Arizona, Indiana, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. He has sold many hundreds of paintings through galleries, online sales, art shows, studio shows, trunk shows, all kinds of shows. He took Mark Kostabi's sage art advice: show everywhere.

Art, in my not so humble opinion, should be dedicated to raising peoples' spirits. Enough concepts, ideas, words, disagreements, and so on. I think paintings, or pictures, or even beautiful items of daily use, can take us out of that latter realm of words, and into the world of pure experience. I certainly hope that it can and does.

I love to sell my work; it's how I make my living. But the greatest joy, and I'm not blowing smoke here, is helping to bring some small—or large!— measure of joy, peace, wonder, humor, and spirit into each of our lives.

After a serious illness in 1998 Truth closed his business in order to devote himself entirely to painting and writing. "After such a confrontation, or voyage, or whatever it was," he said, "you find out what is really important to you. I found that out, and am fortunate enough now to be able to do it."

Truth has done performance work with The Black Valley in Grass Valley, CA. He was a founding member and president of the board (2002-2006) of the Storefront Artist Project in Pittsfield, MA. He wrote and published three books, I Am A Dog, Revolution of Flowers, and Everything I Know About Death (Subject to Verification). He is currently most engrossed in performing his stage monolog: An Intimate Evening with Death, Herself.

    Owner, Artist, Writer, Performer, Shipper

I'm a painter, writer, & performer. I started painting in 1997, not long before I nearly died from a brain infection. Nearly incapacitated, I took up painting seriously because I couldn't do much else. I started selling almost immediately.
