Original art, prints & cards
Banksia Imaginata - the Australian native flower, the Banksia is my muse and has been my artistic obsession for over 5 years. My ongoing series of works - Banksia Imaginata - is where I draw out elements of the banksia’s structure, as well as colour and pattern to create unique artworks. Elements of structure lend themselves to disassembling and reconfiguration. I get so much joy out of studying and reinterpreting the banksia’s unique structure, and I hope my artworks help viewers to see this beautiful native Australian plant in a new light.
My artworks are completed in a variety of mediums from watercolour, acrylic and oil paints to mixed media collage.
Here in my Etsy shop I offer original hand made cards and artworks, as well as printed cards produced from my original artworks.
Creating art is something I’ve done all my life, although my creative output has increased hugely since my kids have grown up and left home. The last ten years have seen me on the steepest learning curve of my life: I went to community college to learn graphic pre-press skills, then university where I gained a degree in graphic design and followed that up with a diploma in visual art.
