Frequently asked questions
Are these authentic Aritsugu knives?
Yes, 100% authentic. All our Aritsugu knives are sourced directly from our shop in the Tsukiji Outer Market, Tokyo. Each blade features the traditional Aritsugu engraving as proof of its heritage and quality.
Do you offer custom name engraving?
Yes! We provide hand-engraved name services (in Japanese Kanji or Katakana). It makes your knife truly unique or a perfect gift. Please send us the name you'd like engraved in the "Note to Seller" section during checkout.
ギフトラッピングやパッケージ
Free Service: Aritsugu paper wrapping is available upon request. Please let us know if you would like this option.
How should I maintain a steel knife?
Aritsugu carbon steel knives (like Aoko/Blue Steel) are incredibly sharp but can rust if not cared for. Always wash by hand and dry thoroughly immediately after use. Never put them in the dishwasher. Applying a light coat of food-grade camellia oil is recommended for long-term storage.
How long is the shipping, and what about customs duties?
We ship via Japan Post - EMS with tracking. Usually, it takes about 7-14 business days to reach most countries. Please note that any import duties or taxes are the buyer's responsibility according to your country's regulations.
