I first started selling my clothing and designs on e-bay about 15 years ago. It wasn't long after that, that many diy'ers (as they were called back then) started moving shop to Etsy. I soon followed and love the community that Etsy offers.
I have been designing and creating art ever since I was young. When I was 8, I watched my mother, who grew up in a Mennonite home sew and sell clothing for dolls at local shops at markets. I started using her scraps to experiment with. In high school i won the proficiency in art award at my graduation. I also spent most of my high school years working part time in a local quilt shop. I made a couple quilts but my main area of interest was in designing clothing. I soon saved up enough money to buy a serger sewing machine. My designs came together so much easier after this, especially in sewing stretch knit fabrics. In college my creations got lots of attention from friends and people who I met at concerts and festivals. But I was very excited when i was able to start selling on line.
I currently make and market everything in my home in Kitchener, Ontario. I am a single mom and life can be very busy and hectic sometimes. My son started school this year and i am finally able to devote more time and attention to my Etsy shop. Designing and making clothing is my passion because who doesn't want to make a fashion statement!?
My number one passion is shopping for treasures second hand. I love taking vintage finds and giving them a new life. I live in a rural country area of Ontario and there is a thrift store around every corner. I am always amazed by the awesome things that i can find. I buy most of my fabric and supplies second hand, though i do sometimes also buy new. Most of my creations are unique and one of a kind. I am also always happy to do custom orders too! I hope you enjoy looking through my shop. Currently most items are photographed on a mannequin but i am hoping that with the warmer weather here, i can get out and do some photo shoots with some live models too.
