A love of books and vintage children's art
Hello! My name is Shelley, and I am an artist, art teacher, and vintage book enthusiast living in Los Angeles. My designs come from my personal collection of vintage books from the 1920's, most of which belonged to my grandparents. I cherished many of the books when I was a child, and I am so happy to bring these gorgeous illustrations to life again!
Creating each bookplate design is often a lot of work: since my old books are well-loved, there is quite a bit of repairing to do. Each vintage illustration is carefully scanned, cleaned, and brightened up... then sometimes completely redesigned to fit a bookplate format. The end product is what you see in my shop: beautiful vintage designs, waiting for your books!
