Anke Humpert is an mixed media artist, writer and holds an M.A. in Architecture from the University of Fine Arts in Berlin, Germany. She lives with her family in Southern Germany, right next to the French boarder.
She grew up in an artistic, crafty family and has been involved in some kind of artistic adventure as long as she can remember. She liked to try out new things and incorporate them into her work. Her interests are especially in working with paper, painting, stamping, polymer clay, altered books, scrap booking and bookbinding. She likes to incorporate used and found objects in her art.
Three of her books on polymer clay ("Grundkurs Fimo ",“Schmuckstücke mit Fimo”, or in Spanish ”El elegante bisutería con Fimo” and “Raffinierter Fimo-Schmuck”), and one book on stamping techniques (“1x1 der kreativen Stempeltechniken”), she has co-written, are published. She also has translated one of Donna Kato´s books, “The Art of Polymer Clay – Millefiori Techniques” into German. This book will be available in June 2010.
Her works has been published in a number of magazines ( The Polymer Arts, Somerset Memories, Scrap-Art-Zine and Just Stamps).
Most of all she loves to be connected to the wonderful world of craft enthusiasts, national and international. By taking classes with internationally renown artists and teachers, and by teaching herself, she can perfectly serve this aim. And this also gives her the most inspiration and pleasure in her own artistic development.
