World War II 1940's Black And White Photo Still Of Three Men Looking At Books In The Bombed Remains Of A London Library 5x7 Greeting Card

This is a moving image of the remains of the library of Lord Ilchester's historic 17th. Century house in Kensington, London. The house was saved from complete destruction during the air raids over London. Fortunately, firemen were able to save much of the library, which was located in the east wing of the house. Many of the books along the walls were spared and restored. This photo is an example of the dark and ominous remnants of the attempts to destroy buildings and books which symbolize our civilization, and the resilience of those who lived through the horrors of the London Blitz.
