100% of sales from this shirt go to support the Palestinian people on the ground in Palestine.
This shirt is UNISEX sizing (runs large).
I made this piece in remembrance of the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba. The Nakba, also known as ‘Catastrophe’, was the destruction of Palestinian society and homeland in 1948, and the permanent displacement of a majority of the Palestinian Arabs. The term is used to describe both the events of 1948 and the ongoing persecution, displacement, and occupation of the Palestinians.
About the panels:
PANEL 1: A woman sitting in the shade of an orange tree and wearing a keffiyeh hijab as well as a traditional thobe/dress. The thobe features tatreez (embroidery) on it.
PANEL 2: Hands breaking ka'ak, which is a bread found throughout Palestine made in a large ring-shape and covered with sesame seeds.
PANEL 3: Person wearing a keffiyeh and using a slingshot.
PANEL 4: Hands holding an olive branch.
PANEL 5: A seedo (grandpa) wearing a keffiyeh and holding the hand of his grandson, who is holding a Palestinian flag. They are both looking out onto the land.
This design was digitally drawn by me, a Palestinian woman.
