Fucshia, bright pink lokta paper, hand made in Nepal.
size approx 19.5 x 29.5 inches / 50 x 75 cm with deckle edges.
weight: 30gsm~ pretty lightweight but fairly strong, reasonably robust for the weight.
This Nepalese lokta paper has a lovely soft feel & the natural plant fibres show up gorgeously along the torn edges! Although it feels delicate, it really is quite a robust paper & it will take ink or paint well, though some brands of ink may need some fixative applying first.
Nepalese Mountain paper is fabulous in collages & mixed media, great for decorative book-binding, scrap-booking, calligraphy, printmaking etc etc or wherever your imagination takes you.... it gives a crisp fold & produces a nice torn edge.
*NB: Colours may appear slightly differently on different screens, also the colour of handmade papers may vary slightly between batches.

Nepalese mountain paper is made from the bark fibre of lokta, a plant which grows above 3000 metres in the Himalayan foothills. This is a renewable resource and the fibre collection and paper manufacture create valuable employment in the hill areas. The dyeing is done in the Kathmandu valley using dyes which meet current EU standards on effluence and toxicology.
These papers are not absorbent and can be used with pen and ink for calligraphy, for collage or for wrapping.... if your ink should bleed, a fixative can be used but most are fine.
