This necklace depicts Anomalocaris, among the first giants to roam the ocean depths (1ft in length was enormous at the time). Whether it was an agile apex predator, or a graceful filter feeder, there is no doubt that Anomalocaris was an impressive sight as it swam the Cambrian seas!

The amazing story of the discovery and identification of Anomalocaris is exceeded only by the animal itself! The reconstruction of Anomalocaris depicted by this pendant was only arrived at in the 1980s, prior to which, the various disconnected parts of the animal had been interpreted by paleontologists as shrimp, Jellyfish, Sponges and more.
