Welcome to the lovely city of Brooklyn, New York back in 1896. The East River Bridge (Brooklyn Bridge) was only 13 years old; brand new back in 1886.
This gorgeous original hand-colored engraved map from the very end of the 19th century shows all of Brooklyn's streets and highways as well as public buildings, colleges, railroad stations, parks, cemeteries, theaters, hotels, and tons of other cool points of interest in fussy fine detail. There are also two spectacular copper-engraved views of the Brooklyn Bridge shown on the reverse side.
'1896 Map Of Brooklyn New York' measures 13.25" x 10.75" overall and it's in wonderful condition, with firm edges, sharp corners, and just a whisper of light tanning around the very edges. It's folded neatly at the center as issued nearly 130 years ago.

Matted, framed, and displayed as a gallery grouping, these fascinating old Victorian Era US city maps are simply spectacular.
