This is an easy crochet tutorial to make a lion plush toy, pattern includes clear and detailed written instructions with lots of process photos. This amigurumi pattern is worked in continuous rounds and uses basic crochet stitches. (see skills required below)
AMIGURUMI PATTERN INFORMATION
- Skill Level: Easy
- Size: approx 20cm or 8in (when made with DK yarn)

MATERIALS
- 2.5 mm – crochet hook size
- DK ( 8ply) yarn in Yellow, Brown and White
- Safety eyes – 8mm solid black eyes (optional)
- Black embroidery thread/yarn (for eyes and nose)
- Stitch markers
- Yarn needle and scissors
- Pins
- Toy filling
Yarn Brand// Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK
- Melon Sorbet – 2 x 50g balls [200 yards /185 metres]
- Soft fudge – 1 x 50g ball [103 yards /95 metres]
- Champagne White – 1 x 50g ball [40 yards /30 metres]
**You can easily substitute with your favourite yarn, for the best results I recommend using a fine to medium weight yarn in Cotton or Acrylic. You can also easily increase the size of your crochet toy by using a thicker yarn.
SKILLS REQUIRED: magic circle, chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet (US), double crochet (UK), increase, decrease, changing colours and joining amigurumi.
