A contemporary realist, Raquel Colina communicates thoughts, experiences, and dreams using the visual language of the old masters. This language is universal. In her paintings are figures experiencing uncertain inner power, fleeting glory, and an awe of being alive in this vast world. As for non-human subjects, she captures the essence of places and things while painting what is most beautiful about them.
A graduate of the Ohio State University with a B.S. in Psychology, Raquel is a self-taught painter.
