517CustomWoodworks

Welcome to 517 Custom Woodworks! I’m Andy Richards, the maker behind the shop, based in Tecumseh, Michigan. I enjoy creating handmade wood pieces that bring warmth, character, and practical use into your home. Every item is an opportunity to turn a natural material into something you can use, enjoy, or give to someone special.

My shop features a variety of handcrafted products, including personalized dog feeders, coat racks, blanket ladders, cutting boards, and custom gifts. Whether you’re looking for a useful addition to your own home or a thoughtful gift for a wedding, housewarming, holiday, or birthday, I want you to find something that feels personal and meaningful.

I take pride in the details—from choosing the wood and preparing each piece to sanding, staining, finishing, and adding your personalization. My goal is to create pieces that look great and serve a purpose in everyday life. I strive for high-quality workmanship and put care into each order that leaves my shop.

One of my favorite things about working with real wood is that every piece has its own character. Differences in grain, knots, and the way wood accepts stain give each finished item a unique appearance. Those natural variations are part of what makes handmade woodwork special, and they help make your piece truly your own.

Personalization adds another layer of meaning. A family name, a pet’s name, a special phrase, or a custom design can turn an everyday item into a keepsake. If you have an idea or a question about a product, please reach out. I’m happy to discuss the details and see what we can create.

When you order from 517 Custom Woodworks, you’re supporting a small business and a maker who cares about the finished product and your experience. I appreciate the trust you place in me, whether you’re purchasing your first item or returning for another custom piece.

Thank you for visiting my shop and supporting handmade work. I’m proud to create in Tecumseh, Michigan, and grateful for the chance to make something special for your home.
