Frequently asked questions
How do I clean my copper pendant?
There are many ways to remove the oxidisation and bring the shine back to your copper pendants.
Personally, I like the darker tone the copper takes on as it ages but if I do polish my pendants I find the best thing to use is a tiny little amount of brasso polish on a soft toothbrush. I brush this over the piece gently then I very gently buff it with a cloth rag to bring up the shine. You could also use a silver polishing cloth. There are many natural options for cleaning copper as well (all can be found when googled).
Care instructions
I seal all of my copper pieces with Renaissance Wax to delay oxidisation. This sealant is not permanent, over time it will wear off and the pendant will start to oxidise/darken. The speed at which a piece oxidises is unique to the person who is wearing the item and the environment they live. Oxidisation is not a fault.
To prevent or slow down oxidisation
- When not worn always store your copper jewellery in its pouch in a moisture free location.
- Always remove your pendant before showering, bathing, swimming, spa, or saunas.
- Do not expose your pendant to oils, lotions, perfumes etc.
If you wear another pendant alongside this one please note that the metal rubbing on metal may over time damage the copper layer.
How do I care for and clean my silver pendant?
Over time silver may tarnish, the speed in which this can happen is unique to the person who is wearing the item and the environment they live.
The best way to care for your silver pendant and prevent it tarnishing/oxidising:
- When not worn always store your pendant in its pouch in a moisture free location.
- Always remove your pendant before showering, bathing, swimming, spa, or saunas.
- Do not expose your pendant to oils, lotions, perfumes etc.
If you wear another pendant alongside this one please note that the metal rubbing on metal may over time damage the silver layer.
The best way to clean your silver pendant is to gently buff it with a silver polishing cloth, do not submerge your pendant in a liquid jewellery cleaning solution.
