Hi! I'm Meli and I'm in LA-born Peruvian. I started AoA when I was about 24 years old with the support of my family. I always heard stories about alpaca wool and how it was the fiber of the gods. Our Inca civilization wouldn't survive without them.

Care instructions

NATURAL DYES CARE

Natural dyes are eco-friendly, protective to skin and come in beautiful colors. However, they do not bond with textile fibre materials like synthetic dyes which may lead to leaching or slight color changes when sweating or rubbing. We recommend using naturally dyed items with dark clothes or backpacks, and washing them as little as possible, to make sure the unique color lasts longer.

Washing alpaca wool:

• Hand wash / machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with a gentle/wool detergent, and gently squeeze out excess water.
• Wash with similar colors. The dye will likely tint the washing water, but the color of your garment won’t be changed.

Do NOT:
• Tumble dry / dry clean
• Use fabric softener or bleach.
