We created Arms of Andes with the idea of using alpaca wool to produce high-performance garments for outdoor and travel enthusiasts, maintaining ultimate transparency and sustainability of our brand at the same time. 

Alpaca fiber is well known in the fashion industry for its soft touch, but for many years its amazing properties have been overlooked. The fiber is naturally breathable, temperature regulating, and moisture-wicking. It's also anti-bacterial and odor-resistant, which lets you wear it for multiple days without washing. These benefits make alpaca clothes versatile, perfect for people staying active outdoor in changing weather conditions, or traveling around the world in different climates.

Alpaca wool is a natural fiber that undergoes minimal processing, without any chemicals that could damage the environment, so in itself can be considered biodegradable. This is not where our sustainability ends though. Our wool comes directly from Andean alpaca herders, whose families have been employing traditional techniques to rear alpacas and harvest their fiber for generations. 

Our animals are free-roaming, as nature intended them to do. The entire production process is carried exclusively in Peru, generating many jobs for local herders, shearers, fiber sorters, drivers, and factory workers among others, which helps boost the local economy. We do this to ensure quality, reduce our overall carbon footprint, and make sure our products are as sustainable as possible.
