What are Lake County Diamonds?
A wonderful question!
Lake County diamonds are quartz stones of volcanic origin, they are not African diamonds.
Lake County diamonds are nicknamed similarly to Herkimer diamonds. These gemstones were created hundreds of thousands of years ago when the volcano Mt Konocti last erupted causing quartz crystals to fuse with lava in a unique way, they can only be found in my small county. They rank from 7.5 to 9 on the MOHS scale. The free form gemstones are mostly translucent but can be found in hues of yellow/orange/red and rarely purple.

We charge a 20% restocking fee on returns. No restocking fee will be assessed on exchanges. Please understand that the restocking fee only covers part of our loss in shipping fees, packaging, and labor. As a small handmade business, it is very hard to absorb these costs.
When are orders shipped?
I typically ship orders 2 to 3 times a week:
Mondays
Wednesdays
Fridays
Though this schedule may vary depending on lifes varying circumstances.
Returns and exchange details
Returns are accepted on rings and necklaces up to 90 days from the order date. Customer pays for return shipping.
Items that have been altered by another jeweler are not eligible for a return.
Earrings cannot be returned or exchanged.
Exchanges; the new item(s) must be equal or near original price. Damaged items cannot be exchanged or returned.
Avellos' warranty: 90 day warranty which includes, metal or stone cleaning, resizing (up to one size larger, other adjustments will require a fee), stone repair or replacement, band repair. Customer pays for return shipping.
