Quality Organic Baby Clothes and Toys, Made in USA. Baobab is a small Maine-based company lead by Chilean designer Vero Poblete ~ Howell, committed to producing high quality garments and accessories for babies in a way that benefits our farms, our communities and our environment.
I work primary with certified organic cotton fabrics as well as other natural and sustainable fabrics available in the local market. All the design and cutting takes place at my home studio in Waldoboro, while the stitching and assembling relies on a wonderful small network of home based seamstresses along Maine.
This organic baby products are made with efficiency in mind and love for our future generations . Wear them out or pass them along !

Chilean designer brings organic threads to Maine

I'm a textile designer originally from Chile and USA resident for
More than 12 years. Love took me from my beloved city of Santiago all the way up to the wilderness of Maine. I Met my husband Josh in Chile Soon after he has published his travel guide for adventures and sports.
I count with a degree in textile design and colorimetry from the Catholic University of Chile ~ Faculty of Arquitecture, Art and Design and a Fashion Apparel Design diploma from the European Institute of Fashion Design in Milan,Italy. I have also studied ancients textiles at Santiago precolumbian Museum
of Arts and worked for more than 10 years in the textile industry as a designer and buyer before meeting my husband and moving to Maine .
And while I'm happy to have left the fashion world behind,I believe it is my fashionista eye that lend my collections to their distinctive look :)
