A business made from chance
It happened one day when we were given a small bag of green unroasted coffee beans. The 1 lb bag of green coffee beans sat for a while in a drawer. Then one day, Michael decided he would try his hand at coffee roasting, just to see. He roasted an Indonesian Sumtra to a Medium Dark Roast with our Back to Basics popcorn maker. We weren’t sure how it would turn out. But the beans looked good after roasting. The grind looked nice. And as the coffee brewed, the waft of the coffee filled the room and at first sip, we realized that freshly roasted coffee gives you more aromas and flavors than the ones at the store that have been sitting who knows how long. And from there the idea started to brew into what it is today.
As we have evolved we upgraded our coffee roaster. Our belief is that we don't roast until you place your order. Giving you the most tasting notes the coffee can give. But we also know depending on how you brew your coffee will depend on what grind the coffee needs to be. We have tested this idea of different grinds give you different notes and if your coffee is overextracted it will be bitter or if underextracted bland.
We have fallen in love with all the different flavor notes our coffee has and we hope you do too.
