Capturing nature's intricate details in silver jewelry

My discovery and immediate love for silver clay led to the creation of Blue Dot Jewelry. Silver clay is a delightful medium composed of microscopic particles of silver in a small amount of organic material. Once dried and fired in a kiln, only the pure silver remains.

The jewelry in my shop was made from original designs and real pieces of nature collected from botanic gardens, parks and trail hikes near home. Nature finds become silver in two ways: either they are pressed into a mold, which is then filled with silver clay, or the clay is thinned so it can be slowly painted right onto a leaf, built up layer by layer.

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. In 2006 I moved to NYC, then spent the next 10 years in Brooklyn, where Blue Dot was born on my studio counter. I now live and work with my husband and two kids in the Hudson Valley, where I continue to be inspired by the woods, gardens and beaches around us.
