Boho Handmaids
My Journey
I didn’t think I could. How do you make jewelry? And surely, no one else needs another rosary, bracelet, or necklace! But, for Christmas, my husband gave me a jewelry making tool-set. So I made my first bracelet. It wasn’t strong and broke shortly after. The knots were loose and the thread frayed too much. I kept going. I’ve thrown away many materials that weren’t strong enough and re-designed hundreds of pieces. I found materials from all over the globe, and eventually created truly unique designs like the rosary-bangle which quickly became popular. The compliments came in, and I finally realized I did it. I can make jewelry, which like our faith, is strong, beautiful, unique, and deserving of being shared.
About the Name
I developed this shop to fuse my passions of faith and crafting to create “handmaid” jewelry for the modern woman. When I was in college, I was in a Catholic woman’s group called The Handmaids of the Lord. The group is centered on a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and her virtues. Our Lady completely trusted the Lord and said yes to His will in all things, while leading others to her son. Over the centuries, so many of the saints had special devotions to Our Lady and followed her example as the perfect Christian. Every day Mary, the Handmaid of the Lord, and the community of saints help me emulate a Christ-centered life. My hope for Boho Handmaids is to create jewelry that shares the great lives of the saints and inspires others to invigorate, renew and enlighten their lives wherever they may be on their journey.
Rosary Jewelry
This is our bread and butter. We create beautiful rosaries that so you can pray and share your faith anywhere, anytime. These pieces are timeless, meaningful, and will last. We have traditional rosaries, and our own designs which have taken a long time to perfect!
Saint Medal Jewelry
In Catholicism, every saint is assigned a patronage. In other words, the saints are given a special title according to their occupation in life or an illness they may have suffered. Saints are our friends in heaven and are powerful intercessory prayer warriors, which is why I love creating soulful pieces around them. I have many saint medals, so if you'd prefer a different one on your piece, just ask!
Thank you for visiting!

“Whether she is a mother in the home, or occupies a place in the limelight of public life, or lives behind quiet cloistered walls, she must be a handmaid of the Lord everywhere.” –St. Edith Stein
