Our Story: A Legacy of Craft, Heart, and Heritage
The beautiful journey of Indian wood inlay began over 300 years ago. Originally, these intricate masterworks were detailed using precious ivory, a tradition that gracefully transitioned to sustainable, premium alternative accents when ivory was completely banned in 1989.
The roots of this craft are deeply tied to the land. Generations ago, local farmers seeking meaningful work during their off-season began experimenting with wood inlay. What started as a seasonal creative pursuit blossomed into a life-long devotion. Over the decades, these farmers transformed into true masters of the craft. Their handcrafted tables, chairs, chest boxes, and everyday treasures grew so breathtakingly beautiful that their skill caught the attention of royalty, with many artists subsequently receiving prestigious national awards from the Government of India.
Honoring the Purest Traditions
At BoneInlayOnly by BKP Artisans, we preserve this majestic art form in its truest, most honest state. We consciously choose never to use synthetic hardeners, liquid resins, or artificial colored epoxies. Every delicate motif is placed entirely by hand using old-world techniques, keeping the soul and purity of the tradition alive in every grain of wood.
Artisan Welfare: Empowering Our Family
Beyond the wood and the tools, the heartbeat of our business is our people. The well-being and happiness of our artisans is our absolute top priority. We are proudly committed to fair trade, providing above-average industry wages that truly honor their masterful skills. Because we treat our workshop as a family, we share a rare bond of loyalty: we have never had a single artisan leave us. In fact, every single one of our dedicated craftsmen has been working by our side for more than 30 years.
When you welcome one of our pieces into your home, you aren’t just buying furniture—you are supporting a continuous, three-decade family legacy of love, respect, and unparalleled human craftsmanship.

5 out of 5 starsAn absolutely stunning piece of artisan furniture that warmed our home. Praise for the customer service, which was amazingly helpful and professional, from communication about a custom order and an adjustment to shipping because of our holidays to perfect packing, preparation of documentation for customs and prompt delivery. I can highly recommend and I thank Aman and all the artisans who made our lovely side table.

5 out of 5 starsCustomer service was incredible, table is absolutely gorgeous (smells nice too), and bonus fast shipping. You’ll have to wait a bit for your item to be made and you’ll pay customs, but so incredibly worth it. I can’t say enough about this seller. This is something I will pass down to kiddos.

4 out of 5 starsThe item arrived covered in scratches. The seller only directed me to contact Etsy support and showed no intention of offering an exchange or refund. They claimed to have sent a perfect product in perfect packaging, but since it was actually damaged, I wish they had acknowledged that wasn't the case and taken appropriate action. I was really looking forward to it forover a month, so I extremely disappointed. Update: The seller offered a partial refund for the mirror repair costs and a sincere apology, which I accepted. Now I just hope the mirror is repaired properly and can be displayed in its intended location. The frame was very beautiful so I love it ,which made the scratches on the mirror all the more disappointing.

Thank you for the update—we appreciate you working with us to reach a resolution. This was an unfortunate situation with no one at fault, but rather a known risk when fragile items (like mirror or glass) travel long distances. Only the mirror was affected during shipping, while the wooden frame arrived in excellent condition, and we’re glad to hear you love it. We always aim to be transparent about this and handle any concerns fairly. We’re glad we could support a solution in this case and hope the mirror is repaired successfully so you can enjoy it as intended. Our apologies for this inconvenient situation to arise for you. Our sincere thank you to you and the great team of Etsy support staff for always being fair to everyone.
