I want to start this story with a nave that we still find funny to this day: it was about the team’s name, Breakwooden. Our original intention was for a name to refer to the special members, which we called ourselves incomplete pieces of wood, but since the brothers did not know any English at the time, so we made up the name with our pretty poor English: Breakwooden. By the time a friend reminded us of the incorrect, it was too late, Breakwooden was mentioned and remembered by friends all over the world, and we tacitly accepted that interesting fact.
“Pieces of wood” begins with 4-5 disabled brothers. We’ve known and done the first experiment since 2016 and it took quite a few years to master the necessary techniques. After that, we had our first successes with a few products that became popular within the artisan keycap community, like the Mystery Forest models and later the volcano and snow mountain set. There was a time when each of us produced hundreds of keycaps, all done by hand, but later, even though we have many supporting machines, we still consider it the best way to make artisan keycaps.
Find our passion, live it, and pass it on to other like-minded people – it’s the most complete summary of what we do at Breakwooden. You can come up with a very nice product and it will be copied after a while, but they can not “copy” the spirit of Breakwooden.
We seek to contact and gather brothers in many places in Vietnam. We built a dormitory so that others can live and work on the spot because for most of us, transporting is quite difficult.

Any of us has at least one “weakness”. Some people lack an arm or a leg, which means we try to turn everything we have into our strengths. Surely you will find it more meaningful to know that the product you receive from Breakwooden is colored by a talented guy who only “likes” to paint with one hand, or polished by a guy with only one leg. Well, all we wanted to hear from people was: “Wow! Top!”
Up to now, Breakwooden has more than 400 different product models, of which about 200 products are sold to international markets. Every day, about 100 packages are sent to countries around the world, some of which are special products that are limited editions, such as the keyboard cases called The Great Emperial and The Royal which are quite well known while their production requires 6-8 months of work with many individually crafted gilded components.
“We work on new product projects every day. You won’t have time to think about personal matters here. We give our full attention to new designs. Every new product demands new technical problems that you must solve. We’re used to that, and since everyone’s a perfectionist, we’ll work until the product is at its best.”
Breakwooden’s products span many categories, including Artisan Keycap, Wrist Rest, mechanical Keyboard Case, Decorative Lights – Resin Night Light, and other decorative products. All products are manufactured on a strict quality control process with 10-12 stitches. The resins and colors used in production are all safe for health.
Most of the products use wood materials. We prioritize the use of raw wood from the coffee tree, which is durable and has a very natural pattern, but most importantly, the harvest of raw coffee wood causes very little impact on nature.
We are fortunate to have great companions who help us a lot in our professional operations. For example, product testing is performed with 3 steps of cross-checking to minimize product defects before reaching customers. The high-tech production stages are consulted and adjusted by professional technicians several times a year, helping our products always have extremely high accuracy. Design and creative activities also receive mentoring from artists and design experts, giving us more control over prototyping.
You see! We’re special in a way, I mean, look at Breakwooden products. Like everyone else, our success comes from the sweat of serious work hours, creative passion, and a sense of professionalism.
