Our Story
Once upon a time, in 2012, my wife and I were remodeling our guest bathroom when we ran into a challenge—an awkward nook that had once been a window. A long time ago, before my parents expanded the house, that window looked out over the farm my grandparents worked with a team of horses. Which meant finding a cabinet at a big box store was impossible to do, so I built one myself.
That one project sparked a passion for woodworking, and before long, I was building custom furniture to fit the quirks of our generational homestead. My family’s home has stood through decades of change, from the days before running water and electricity to now, and with every project, I carry forward that tradition of working with my hands.
In 2018, I launched Builder Dads, turning that passion into a small family business. Today, Builder Dads is more than just a workshop—it’s a blend of handcrafted furniture, custom woodworking, and 3D-printed shop upgrades, all designed with care and precision. Every project, whether for a customer’s home or a fellow woodworker’s shop, is made with the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship.
