Cedar Sense was started in 2019 when the owner Michael Vail decided to make the biggest leap of his life by quitting his 11 year career as a consultant in construction.
Although the money was great, the time away from the family was not. He knew there had to be a change so when the opportunity presented itself, he jumped all-in.
After one week of starting Cedar Sense he realized that he was going to have to choose one or the other and knowing that he did not want to have regret later in life, he chose to quit construction and start Cedar Sense.
Many people thought he had lost his marbles but he knew in his heart it was the right decision.
He established Cedar Sense with the sole intention to be able to create opportunities in rural USA. The fact that he had to be on the road to earn a good living is something that he has set his heart on changing.
Cedar Sense is proud to say that today they have full-time employees with $20+/hr careers (not jobs). We want to continue this success into the future.
One more note is that Michael Vail is a direct descendant of an enrolled member on the White Earth Chippewa tribe in Northern MN. He has chosen to keep his business on the reservation to keep the money local and help other local businesses thrive in his community.
