My name Irina Chulanova Kurtz. I am from a small town located in the south of Russia. From a very young age, I discovered art would be my passion. I gravitated to anything art during my formative years which inspired me to attend art school in Saint Petersburg. There, I studied fine art and industrial design for six years. I emigrated to New York City in 1994 and immediately began working as a textile designer in New York's fashion district. Originally, work was hand painted but more and more, the industry relied on computers. I still hand paint first and then transfer my concepts onto the small screen. I have been designing for more than twenty years creating thousands of patterns for fashion and home industries. However, my fondness to draw and paint for myself the way I see it without any art directory bring the most enjoyment.
