5 out of 5 starsRita, I am a woodworker, and have test stained & finished your Curly Birch using a technique I learned on Curly Maple. Photo is attached. /Users/cpeterjunkergmail.com/Desktop/IMG_4246.jpg I hope. If it doesn't come through, send me an email to cpeterjunker@gmail.com My project is to make a curly-birch handle for a new outdoor knife. Danke, Peter Junker.

Curly birch is slow groving and rather small tree. The trunk of this species is often less than 20 cm in diameter. -
If removing the bark from curly birch trunk the under bark surface is just fantastic! Perfect for salt and pepper mills. -
Properly cut wood is cut on winter-time when curly birch trunk is full of sugars and is dense. -
Curly birch wood is mainly used for making smaller highly valued items like knife handles, jewelry or ring boxes.
