Thanks to my daughter!
I grew up watching my mum making curtains on our dining room table, then there were trips to the fabric store and maybe this rubbed off on me because I went on to the London College of Fashion to study clothing design. After college I worked in both men’s wear and women’s wear. Years later, I found myself sewing curtains for my wife and me, then for friends. As word spread, I eventually found myself making curtains for clients and subsequently businesses in San Francisco, where we lived.
When Covid hit everything stopped and no more curtains! No more money coming in! Then one day my 9-year-old daughter told me she had an invention! OK. She kept talking to me about her invention and if I helped her make it we could sell it on a website called Etsy. "Etsy?" I said, well we did, and she sold a few of her doll bed phone chargers, that we made. Then the penny dropped, and I thought, maybe I could sell curtains on Etsy and the rest is history. I custom make every order and enjoy working with people all over the US.
If it was not for my daughter and Etsy, I do not know how we would have got through Covid.
