Dancing Light Bijoux is a one-person operation. Every piece in my shop is handmade by me. Sometimes in my travels around flea markets and estate sales I find vintage pieces of jewelry that are in excellent condition and too beautiful to change, so I feature some of those too.

A lady I knew in Florida taught me a lot about restoring vintage rhinestone jewelry. As far as I know she was self-taught. Besides what I learned from her, I'm completely self-taught in jewelry making. I did learn some techniques in sculpture classes I took in school, and in rehabbing the 1925 bungalow I owned when I lived up north, so I'm oriented to figuring things out as I go along, refining techniques that work, discarding and fixing ones that don't.

I don't ever want to feel like I know everything about making jewelry. For me, learning as I go is one of the most satisfying aspects of doing this.

I really like things that are old, but I also like transformations. I wouldn't mind making pieces that make people think, about the past, about beauty, about light . . .
